Collectively, in 2005/06 the livestock industries in South Australia contributed more than $3.3 billion to South Australia’s Gross Food Revenue (does not include a value of greater than $400m for wool). Beef and sheep are by far the biggest sectors however substantial growth has commenced and is expected to continue in both the pork and the poultry industries.
