Licence coverage maps

Mineral tenement map (.pdf approximately 506.9kb) shows the extent of the tenement ground coverage, including mineral licences and mineral licence applications, across South Australia. This map is updated weekly.
Mineral exploration licence coverage, 2004 and 2008 (.pdf 183.1kb) shows the area of South Australia over which exploration licences have been granted, with a comparison between January 2004, prior to the implementation of the Program for Accelerating Exploration (PACE) initiative, and November 2008.

Downloadable data

Current downloadable tenement datasets are available through the South Australian Resources Information Geoserver (SARIG).

Spatial datasets of many of PIRSA's mineral, petroleum and geothermal tenements can be downloaded in different formats and projections from the Map Data screen in SARIG. Select Tenements on the 'layer control' panel. You will be presented with options to download the following datasets:

Mineral and/or Opal Exploration Licence Applications
Mineral Exploration Licences
Opal Exploration Licences
Expired Mineral Exploration Licences and Special Mining Licences
Current Mineral Production Tenement Applications
Active Mineral Production Tenements
Non-active Mineral Production Tenements
