Under Section 15A of the Mining Act 1971, a person may, upon payment of the prescribed fee, inspect the Mining Register and obtain extracts from the register, subject to the provisions of the Act.

A search query must be submitted to PIRSA Mineral Tenements in writing. This can be done in the following ways:

Standard search queries may take up to 2 working days to complete. Customised search queries may take longer and this will depend on the complexity of the request.
Most search results can be provided electronically (pdf documents by email) or in hard-copy for collection at Level 7, 101 Grenfell St or delivery by normal mail or by fax.

Any search queries will incur a fee. Refer to the Mining Act Fees page for the current fees.
Once a search query is received and completed, a Mineral Tenements team member will contact you to confirm your details and arrange payment. If you require confirmation of the approximate cost of your search before it is done, please advise in your written request. An exact cost may not be known until the search is complete.
Payment can be made over the phone by credit card (Visa/MasterCard), by mail with cheque/money order, or in-person by credit card, cheque, money order or cash. Search fees cannot be paid by bank transfer.
Payment must be received before the search results can be released.
