Construction of the Mindarie zircon mine was completed in December 2007 and production commenced late 2007.

First shipments of zircon and ilmenite were dispatched in November 2007 from the Mindarie rail facility to Port Pirie, where they have been exported.

Mining was stood down from early October 2009.

The program for environment protection and rehabilitation (PEPR) for a new and revised mining operation was approved by DMITRE in April 2012.
