The Agricultural Bureau has contributed to the distribution of technology and expertise to the farmers of our State for over 100 years. As a result South Australian farmers are recognised as some of the most progressive and efficient operators in the world.
The Bureau is a valuable vehicle for sharing issues with others. It can be a source of reassurance that you are not alone. There are other farmers with the same issues, and the same interests in making the most of the industry.
Policy advice and recommendations are made to the South Australian Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Foresty via the Advisory Board of Agriculture and whilst independent, work closely with State Agencies such as Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA), SARDI and Rural Solutions SA. This helps to ensure that rural SA has a valuable voice that can assist in developing and shaping government policy, and services to rural SA in a positive and pro-active manner.
The organisation is non-partisan and non-political. It allows members to work together on management and marketing issues.
