SA Rural Women's Programs

Rural Affairs is involved in managing, promoting and supporting a range of rural women's events and programs.

There are a wide range of rural women's networks across South Australia.

Australian Women in Agriculture (AWIA)

Over 50 South Australian women at involved in Australian Women in Agriculture (AWIA) (external site) which is Australia's peak organisation for agricultural women. Visit their website and decide how you want to be involved.

Foundation for Australian Agricultural Women (FAAW)

The Foundation for Australian Agricultural Women (external site) is an independent non-profit organisation whose mission is to resource, empower, research, influence and partner for the benefit of rural women.

Rural Industry Research Development Corporation (RIRDC) Rural Women’s Award

RIRDC Rural Women's Award is designed to recognise but more importantly encourage the vital contribution women make to rural Australia.

SA Country Women's Association (SACWA)

SA Country Women's Association is a service and support organisation for women in the city and the country. More information is available from the SA Country Women's Association website (external site).

SA Rural Women's Gatherings (SARWG)

Gatherings are usually a weekend event held annually. SA Rural Women’s Gatherings are a great avenue for getting information to an important group of people within the rural community.

Women in Agriculture and Business (WAB)

Women in Agriculture and Business (previously known as the Women's Agricultural Bureau of South Australia Inc.) is a state-wide support and communication network for rural women.

Women in Business and Regional Development

This organisation provides support and encouragement for women interested in business and development in the Limestone Coast. More information can be found on their Women in Business and Regional Development website (external site).

Women in Dairy (SA)

There have been a number of project's over the years that have brought women involved in the dairy industry. While there are no formal organisation, there is an informal network of women in dairying and more information can be obtained from the South Australian Dairyfarmers Association website (external site).

Women in Horticulture (SA)

Women in Horticulture is an organisation for women involved in all aspects of horticulture production and processing in the riverland of South Australia. For more information email Rural Affairs.

Women's Industry Network (WIN)    

The South Australian Women's Industry Network works to improve awareness of the SA Fishing & Seafood Industry through education and promotion within the community. The network promotes training opportunities for women in the industry and seeks to increase participation and communication networks amongst women. Yorke Peninsula Women's Network    

The Yorke Peninsula Women's Network was established in 1998 following the Kadina Rural Gathering. The committee members, who organised the Gathering felt the need for ongoing opportunity for training and networking. For more information email Rural Affairs.
