The draft Plant Health Bill 2008 proposes to update and replace the current Fruit and Plant Protection Act 1992 that is currently before Parliament.
The proposed changes to the existing Act will minimise the potential for declared plant pests and diseases to be introduced into the State. It will strengthen legislative measures to ensure the appropriate response in the event of a new plant pest or disease outbreak within South Australia.
